Years in the making\, SB 3 91 will \;allow an owner of a lot or parcel at least two acres in size in an area zoned \;rural \;residential to build an \;ADU  \;on that lot or parcel if there is already a single-family dwelling on th e lot or parcel. \;Counties that wish to allow \;rural \;ADUs will now begin to initiate comprehensive plan and/or zoning text amendment s to comply with the law. Deschutes County has been a longtime supporter o f the proposal and is now working to implement it into County code.
