This course covers some of the common liability challenges that Managing Broker's face today. Through discussion, case studies and lecture, this course will help you better understand the risk and liability facing your brokerage and how to take steps to protect your company, your brokers and the consumers you serve.   • Legal Case Studies- Review some of the top legal liability cases in the past two years 
  • RESPA- The importance of a company policy regarding recommending expert service providers, home inspection companies, etc.
  • Fair Housing- The importance of a company policy on obtaining objective information from consumers to provide a defense against claims

  • Understanding the importance of Agency Disclosure to consumers

Damon Runberg is a state economist with the Oregon Employment Department covering Central Oregon, the Klamath Basin, and the Columbia River Gorge. He calculates the monthly employment and unemployment estimates for the area’s counties; additionally, Damon tracks various economic indicators critical to the region’s economy. He writes prolifically and regularly gives presentations on the state of the local economy. Damon received his Master of Public Policy from Oregon State University (Corvallis) where he specialized in econometric analysis and natural resource economics. Before that he received his undergraduate from Gonzaga University.
