New REALTOR® Member Required Association Courses
The Cascades East Association of REALTORS® has revamped its new member orientation to help our new members succeed in the real estate industry and set themselves apart as REALTORS® as they embark on this new career all while getting the most of their local, state and national memberships. If you are a new REALTOR® member, you have several educational requirements. You must complete these five steps to meet your new member orientation requirements. - Within the first thirty (30) days, you must complete the New Member Code of Ethics online course from the National Association of REALTORS®. This self-paced course is free and takes 2.5 hours to complete. Access course.
- Within the first thirty (30) days, you must complete the National Association of REALTORS® Fairhaven simulation training online, which uses the power of storytelling to help members identify, prevent, and address discriminatory practices in real estate. This self-paced course is free and takes approximately one hour to complete. Access training.
- Within the first four (4) months, complete The NAR Code of Ethics: Practical Applications Lunch & Learn. This free, live, in-person course includes lunch and is approximately two hours long.
- Within the first four (4) months, complete Professionalism in Real Estate Lunch & Learn. This free, live, in-person course includes lunch and is approximately two hours long.
- Within the first six (6) months, complete Your Membership Working for You Lunch & Learn. This free, live, in-person course includes lunch and is approximately two hours long.

MLS Required Courses
If you are new to the MLS, you must complete several educational requirements. Please visit our MLS Training webpage to learn more.
Code of Ethics Training Required for All REALTOR® Members
REALTORS® must complete 2 hours and 30 minutes of ethics training to meet their membership obligation every three years. Failure to meet the requirement is a violation of a membership duty and will result in suspension and eventual termination of membership. If you completed the New Member Code of Ethics training within this cycle, you have completed your requirement.
The Cascades East Association of REALTORS® offers online webinars and live courses throughout our territory for your convenience. Don't risk suspension - invest in your ethics training today. Your membership depends on it. The current cycle ends December 31, 2027.

Continuing Education Requirements for New Licensees
If you are a new real estate licensee in your first license cycle, you are required to complete the following courses to renew your license, which are separate from and in addition to the new member requirements listed above:
- Three-hour Law and Rule Course. Access our calendar to sign up for one of these courses.
- Twenty-seven (27) hours of Advanced Practices. Access this course online here.
You must upload your continuing education (CE) certificates through e-licensing on the Oregon Real Estate Agency (OREA) website.
As a new licensee, we highly recommend you take advantage of our other CE course offerings through the association that will help you stay abreast of important real estate industry rules and regulations, legal and risk management topics, and relevant market information to help you succeed in your career. Although they will not count towards your first license renewal, the Cascades East Association of REALTORS® CE courses are a valuable resource as you start your career in real estate. Continuing Education Requirements for Existing Licensees
If you are not in your first license renewal cycle, you are required to complete the following to renew your license with OREA:
- Three-hour Law and Rule Course. Access our calendar to sign up.
- Twenty-seven (27) hours of CE courses. Access our calendar to sign up.

If you have completed the Code of Ethics training through one of our live in-person or live webinar training courses, it will count towards your license renewal if it was completed within your license renewal cycle.
