Required Courses for MLS
If you are joining the Cascades East Multiple Listing Service, you will need to complete two required courses. Our MLS Onboarding Flyer explains the required courses. The two required courses that everyone must complete are:
- Introduction to Flexmls—This self-paced course is approximately thirty (30) minutes and covers the basic information needed to get started in the MLS. You will be emailed a link to this course upon joining.
- Oregon Data Share Onboarding Course—This course is offered as a live webinar format and is approximately 1.5 hours long. It is offered twice a month. It reviews the Oregon Data Share LLC. Rules and Regulations that you need to know and follow when using our MLS system.
MLS systems and rules vary from MLS to MLS. For this reason, you will be required to take the above two courses if you transfer to Cascades East MLS from another MLS. Please visit our calendar to sign up for the onboarding course. Members may take this course at any time as a refresher course, as our rules are amended occasionally.
Required Course for MLS Input Privileges
Not every real estate office allows members to input or make changes to their own listings. Check with your Managing Principal Broker (MPB) to see if they want you to have input privileges in the Flexmls system. If the answer is yes, you will need to:

Clerical User or Personal Assistant Listing Input Packet - Complete the Listing Input Course (approximately one hour), which is online and self-paced Once we receive the necessary paperwork signed by you and your Managing Principal Broker, you will be emailed a link to take the listing input course.
Already a member with listing input privileges who is transferring to a new office? You will need to complete the steps listed in the Transferring Offices section of our Membership & Office Changes page.
Optional Courses for MLS
Advanced Flexmls Training: We offer an advanced Flexmls course for our members to review the system more in-depth. In this course, you will learn about running CMAs, customizing your preferences, portal preferences, search templates, and setting up subscriptions, contacts, and saved searches This course is approximately two hours long and is offered in in-person and live webinar formats. Check our calendar to sign up for upcoming courses. Members may take them at any time as a refresher, as our MLS system changes from time to time.
Quick Q & A Sessions: Are you struggling with a specific part of our MLS system? Don't have time for a two-hour class? Or are you just looking to further educate yourself on all our MLS system offers? Our team offers quick 30-minute Q&A sessions on various parts of the MLS system. We schedule these for specific topics throughout the year. We also have some sessions that are open question-and-answer format with no particular topic, allowing our members to ask any questions they have about Flexmls, system functionality, or settings. We are here to help make the end-user experience as positive and productive as possible. Check out our calendar to see this schedule.
Forms Trainings: The Oregon Data Share updates and releases several forms as needed. These include property input forms, a listing contract, advisories, and more. As changes are made, we offer training in various formats to ensure our members understand these changes and can seamlessly implement them in their daily business practices. Our goal is to provide superior listing forms and advisories to protect our members and the clients they serve. Additionally, there are two companies in Oregon that provide transactional forms: Oregon REALTORS® Forms and Oregon Real Estate Forms. We partner with both organizations to offer our members form training on each product. Check your calendar to find upcoming form training. Members should consult with their Managing Principal Broker (MPB) on which forms product they should use. The association and MLS does not recommend one forms product over another as that is a business decision for the MPB for their brokerage.
