About the BBO Awards
The Building a Better Oregon* (BBO) Awards recognizes those who have enhanced their community with outstanding new or renovated residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This community awards program was created by the association over 60 years ago. Projects are judged on:
- economic impact
- neighborhood improvement
- unique design and/or materials
- environmental friendliness.
Nominations for a Building a Better (BBO) Award open at the beginning of each year. The 2025 application for the BBO Awards is currently open and can be accessed at this link. The deadline for 2025 BBO Awards applications is March 19, 2025. A workgroup of members reviews applications and selected projects to be toured during the spring and summer. Note: The Building a Better Oregon Awards was known as the Building a Better Central Oregon Awards until 2023. The name was updated to reflect the association's expansion from central Oregon to include Wheeler, Grant, Baker, Union, and Wallowa counties in eastern Oregon.
