The Building a Better Oregon* (BBO) Awards recognize those who have impacted their community with outstanding new or renovated commercial or industrial buildings/structures, as well as innovative residential buildings/structures. This community awards program was created by the association over 50 years ago. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Property/project will be in the Cascades East Association of REALTORS® territory, which includes Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Jefferson, Harney, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler counties.
- Renovation or property work must have been completed between October 2024 and June 2026.
- Have a significant impact through community or neighborhood improvement, innovative design and construction, economic contribution, and environmental sustainability.
- Property/project can be new construction and/or renovation/restoration.
- Individuals and small corporations will be given priority over large corporations or government projects.
2026 BBO Awards applications are due by April 13, 2026.
After nomination, applicants will be reviewed by a workgroup of Cascades East Association of REALTORS® members. Top applicants will be selected for a tour. Eight properties will be chosen as winners.
